Like you, I also had a good job and money but was never a materialistic person in the first place. Health comes first. By placing so much emphasis on "stuff" it consumes us, sucks us down the plug hole. I have no money now but so long as I can afford to buy food and keep a roof over my daughters head then thats all that matters to me. Being a good parent, being there for my child and taking care of my health is far more important than making lots of money. I don't want to destroy my health by drinking lots of coffee in order to keep going. Been there, done that, I fell apart. It does not mean that I am a looser, it means that I am sensible and taking care of myself and my family in the most important way.
Too many people want it all. It does not work like that whether you have Bipolar or not. Something eventually misses out, be it family or spouse who lack love and consideration as people are too busy making that extra buck. I have had all of the holidays in Europe, been everywhere. Im more content with being a good Mother now and being kind to myself. Happy parent equals happy child.
I have no time for braggers in my life. I find them dull and all consumed with wanting "stuff" which is just "stuff" at the end of the day. None of it is important as being a good parent and having love.
