Dusk on Money? Mental stability? What is Success to You?

I have fought with the idea of success for years and years. My feelings about what sucess is has changed and been back again over and over. So much so, that I still grapple with the philosophy of it. It has become a profound question for me over the last 25 years and I have found that when I comes to my own success story, I have done remarkable, but it is still never enough. I am hard on myself, probably to keep myself going during the low days (weeks, months), but i am able to recognise how far I have come even though it has not been in the direction I wanted for myself 25, 15 or 10 years ago. I have bipolar, and so, I have good times and bad times. I work very hard at trying to recognise when I get too high or too low, before the breakdown. Over the years I have become more and more successful and continue to be vigilant. I am a single mother of a teenage girl. I work very hard at being a valuable parent to her. Some days are maddening and others are grand. I consider myself a successful parent because my daughter has turned out to be such a treasure. And because I am still getting through this job on my own and with my community. I am a addict 2yrs clean now. I belive this is an ultimate success. I have built a network of supports around me, I have been resourceful, I have been determined. I have very very little money, but I have a roof, food and am blessed to live in a country where clean fresh water comes straight out of my tap. I have been a successs at managing my money, we have very little but want for nothing. I have been a success at upholding my values in life, I have been sucessful at living a life of integrity and I have been sucessful most of all at staying alive. On most days...thats enough.
